The doctors were in my room trying to decide if they wanted to take me into surgery. They actually started arguing in front of me about what they wanted to do. I had no idea what was going on and started silently crying. A nurse happened to be walking by and started scolding them as she ran to comfort me. Now the entire time I was in the hospital I had been reading Star Trek novels and one of the doctors had noticed. He would irritate his colleagues whenever he came in by having a whole conversation with me about Star Trek that none of them could follow. When he realized how upset I was he knelt down next to me and explained what they were going to do using all Star Trek references.
